Through the generosity of the people of Wessex the Wessex Cancer Trust has raised over £11,000,000 for a multitude of projects: specialist appointments, training of nurses, medical equipment, pioneering research projects throughout hospitals in the region, mobile mammography vehicles which have screened over a million women for breast cancer, refurbishment of facilities, the Piam Brown children’s cancer ward at Southampton general hospital, educational literature, information leaflets, family grants, holiday breaks for cancer patients their families and carers, the list is endless.
Wessex Cancer Trust is continually funding counselling and complementary therapies for cancer patients, their families and carers. Major Projects Recent major projects undertaken by the Wessex Cancer Trust include raising £215,000 for a new Haematology-Oncology Inpatient Ward at Basingstoke.
This achievement adds to the many other projects in care, education and research which the Wessex Cancer Trust undertakes in order to provide relief and support for cancer sufferers across the Wessex region.
